Our story
Two decades in powered access, a decade building it ourselves
Platform Controls grew out of more than twenty years working inside the powered access industry, repairing and sourcing parts for scissor lifts, boom lifts and vehicle-mounted platforms. That hands-on experience — knowing exactly how a control box fails in the field — is what pushed us to start designing and manufacturing our own.
Since 2014 we've built that in-house manufacturing capability from the ground up in Shropshire, UK: our own tooling, our own testing rigs, and a small team that builds every joystick and control box by hand rather than on an assembly line. It's a slower way to work, but it's why our parts hold up.

Quality & testing
Every control box and joystick we build in-house is fully function-tested before dispatch, not sample-tested. Components are sourced to a spec that lets us back every unit with a 12-month warranty.

OEMs and specialist equipment builders, powered-access rental and service companies, and a worldwide network of trade distributors and stockists — from single replacement parts to ongoing OEM production runs.

Built to last, built to repair
We design parts to be repaired and rebuilt rather than binned — our stainless steel control box guards and modular cable assemblies exist specifically to extend service life and cut down on replacement waste.

We work directly with equipment manufacturers to design controllers and control boxes to their spec, from prototype through to production run.

Camera rigs, vehicle-mounted lifts and other non-standard platforms — if it needs a joystick or control box, we can usually build it.
